Being New At CampInteractive

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

My first day inside the place was yesterday December 21 2008.It was cool to see the inside of it. Today is my second day here and its really cool!!!! I like the people here. They’re pretty awesome :] They’re also really nice. Being new isn’t really cool because you don’t know anybody that well, and it is going to take me a while to get to know everyone because I am a shy person. I would like to know how to build my own website because I have been trying to do that for a while. -Johana D. :]]

My first day here I went on a hiking trip. I didn’t go with my best friend Johana because she couldnt go. Well the hiking trip was very fun. It was on the 8 of november (on saturday). It was raining and very wet. I had so much fun. I met a lot of new people, I was very scared and nervous the only people I knew was Kelly and Lewis. I did warm up and talked to a few people. I fell a lot I have a few bruises but it was all worth it . I had so much fun. It was my first time hiking. I totally hope its not my last. ~Amanda B. :)

Our Experience at CI

Friday, December 19th, 2008

Hey Guys this is Pooja and Joyce! We’re proud students of Bronx Science and are really glad to be helping here at Camp Interactive. We started this tutoring experience about a month ago, and each week we come, we learn something new about each of our tutees. The kids here are great and really cooperative. They appreciate all the help we offer and are really nice, sweet kids. We hope that as the year progresses we have even greater experiences and maybe join them in weekend events!

P.S – THE SNACKS HERE ARE GREAT = )

I have a lot more friends here then at my school. It is so fun here in camp. My family loves camp because I get more help here than home. There are a lot of trips
in camp I cant believe Im going on them. I an so happy that I can go but still camp is fun than school. Campinteractive will always be here for me to go.

So now I just come by myself to the community center with Kariem and Taireik, they come here to the center sometimes and I am lucky Kariem didn’t move. Now those are my only friends I have but it was fun apple picking and I climbed a lot of tree’s to get apples. I like apples.

Hiking Hook Mountain

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

We were hiking in Hook Mountain. It was very foggy. When everyone went to the highest peak we saw a little town. a few hours later we played a game called camoflage the person that is it has to close their eyes and count to 10 then they have to find the kids that hide.after that isaiah found a slug and licked it with his tounge eww!!. threw water at someone and she pead in her pants. Everyone kept on slipping on the ground and when we went back to the bus, everyone was exhausted. Then we went home.

Today we hiked hook mountain the best mountain out of all mountains. We saw mushrooms, cacti, vast mountains, raging rivers and streams.Countless trees and leaves. It was my very first trip i met so many people and they where all friendly. The most exciting part of the hike was “HEAVEN”. That was the peek of hook mountain , it was so beautiful being above the clouds. The wonderful designs of the spider web the awsome design i think that those memories will stay with me forever. -Written by isaiah brye

Its My Park Day

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

What is “It’s My Park! Day” about?
It’s organized by Partnership for Parks and it’s about putting yourself out there. It is an event that gets people to clean up their parks around New York City. It is also to help others and make the world a better place. “It’s My Park! Day” is doing community service and it can help you get into a good college and high school. Next time why don’t you just join us and help us out?

As the day began, many kids were tired but they were full of energy. We started to clean the CampInteractive Tech and Trek center. Then the park people came and gave us rakes, brushes, bulbs, and shovels. We took a break and started eating breakfast. Breakfast was delicious hot, blazing French toast topped with caramel covered syrup that tasted as if it was kissed by heaven.
We had a meeting before we cleaned up the park. We had two teams, Team 1 was called the Outrageous and Team 2 was called UDTN(U Decide The Name). Many kids had different roles like the beautiful Donnette was the team Foreman for team UDTN.  When we were at the park we planted bulbs and raked leaves spreading love to the park. We made it so beautiful, making it look like Beyonce or Bow Wow. OMG!!!!
The reason for “It’s My Park Day” was so we could eradicate the garbage that littered the park with its filth.  Also, to restore peace and cleanliness to the world, one park at a time. Also, to save the O-zone. The participants of Camp Interactive proudly volunteered their time, for the service of the environment and the protection of our parkland which is a number one priority. To protect our world from devastation and to unite all people within our community is the purpose of “It’s My Park Day.”
Therefore, by participating in “It’s My Park Day” it’s a chance to spread the love to the places in which we grew up. The ability to show that we appreciate the home where we grew to become the men and women we are today. Through participating, we gave the environment that nurtured us as children. We could only hope that our example spreads to the hearts of others.
