Chow Circle- Every night after the food was prepared, everyone got into a circle and someone would read a quote by a famous person that either expressed a topic related to our day. Some of the topics to choose from were teamwork, leadership, and challenge. The person who read the quote would then ask a question related to the quote. We’d all discuss and answer the question. After that, everyone would close their eyes in complete silence and send a pulse by squeezing each other’s hands around the circle. After the pulse would go around the circle, the last person with the pulse will then announce chow down and everyone will spin outwards and then start eating. The chow circle was a way to reflect on the days work and find out how people are feeling. Many emotions come out during the chow circle, which is really the purpose. The chow circle was really important because it was a time to reflect which everyone needs to do since so much goes on.
