CHILD / ADULT / PARENT Within each person there are three different people: a child, an adult and a parent. It is important to know when each one is appropriate to use. Child: The child comes out when there is free time and when the person is having fun. The child should not come out when there is a job to do. Adult: The adult comes out when there is work to be done. The adult takes control and gets things done. The adult solves, as well as, avoids problems. The adult contributed greatly to the success of the group. Parent: The parent plays an important part. The parent tends to the needs of each individual in the group. The parent is there for people when they are sick, hurt or just need someone to talk to. Without the parent our group would not have survived. For example, in my group when we had to get something done, and one of us was playing around we would say "Put the child in your pocket." So when I go home and me and my sister have to clean up in order to go outside and she's playing around I'm going to say "Put the child in your pocket." |
